Here be My Postings of Whatnots

from Chris and Shannon:

”* Air Drum Solo. This is an easy one. I really would like to see a kick ass AIR drum solo to an impressive song, like maybe “Moby Dick” from Led Zeppelin. No mistakes either. (If the song is too long, you can edit. Or choose an equally difficult song of your choosing only if you must.) “

The triathlon may be over, but the challenges aren’t. Being out of town and then a week of sickness has stalled the project, but now we’re back. Cut me some slack, ok? anyway - wow, this was harder than it looks. Overall I think it’s close. You be the judge.

Challenge 2: 50 Animal Impressions

Josh and Allen combined forces and challenged me to imitate 50 animals. and not just 50 animals, but 50 animals, all with an additional layer(!!) angie was nice enough to help out. she called out each animal and i did the best i could. i didn’t scrutinize the list, instead just went with whatever i was feeling in the moment. this was uncomfortable to watch, btw. enjoy!

Challenge #1: 30 Second Karate Kicks !

Hey Rob,

What you’re doing is a good thing. Since you’re pimping yourself for donations, I donated $50. Can I get a 30 second video of you doing karate kicks in your underwear?

Jeff

Tell ya what, Jeff,  I’ll give you :45 of kicks, chops and grunts, just because I can.

Operation: Challenge Me To Do Something and I Will Film It

Hi!

I am training for the May 4th Wildflower Triathlon with Team in Training, a group that helps raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In just about a month I will be swimming, biking and running alongside my good friend Mat Honan. I can’t wait. The training is tough-this past week was gnarly-a “build” week they call it, where you ratchet up your training to another dizzying level. This week is more of the same. Apart from some whining and general exhaustion, I’m ok.

The Triathlon is in memory of my dear friend Lisa White. Leukemia took her from us November 17, 2007. She was a beautiful, amazing and selfless person and continues to have a big impact in the lives of her many friends and family who carry on her spirit. I feel close to her when I am either playing music or, recently, training. She was a music nut and she also played some mean soccer back in the day and she also was a generous fundraiser for breast cancer, and after her diagnosis, the blood and marrow transplant information network.

Julia(L) and Lisa (R)

I need your help raising money for the L&L society, specifically I need $4100 raised by April 18th in order to be able to race. I am halfway there thanks to some awesome support, but there is a long way to go.

Mat suggested a great idea to help me get donations for the race and I love it and so now I present: Operation Dare Me To Do Something and I Will Film it and Upload It.

First off, let me state that I have no shame. I’ve shown my ass more times than ron jeremy. ok not really but I am mostly not afraid. Or maybe I am. You have the potential to push me to my ethical and moral limits. What I am proposing here are a few video challenges. Take one of my ideas, or propose (a legal) one of your own, then put your hard earned cash towards the challenge, and I’ll film it and post it on here. It’s a win / win. I entertain you and your friends and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society profits.

 Me: Super Human Triathlete Man

What kind of challenges are we talking about here, Poynter?

All sorts*. Send me your ideas. If it seems do-able, I’ll film it and you can watch it. Simple as that. Get creative!

*I will abstain from any potentially dangerous physical dares. if I get injured before this race it would defeat the purpose of training and racing the triathlon.

Bidding starts at $50, but the more you pay, the more I’ll do.

Here are some examples:

 1. I will write, play (on guitar) and sing a sincere love song to the person of your choice. It will be funny, because I can’t sing or play too well (much less both at once) and I certainly can’t write very good lyrics, especially about love. Watch me flounder. $50

What about a cover song, Rob - something I know?                                              Donate $100 and i will do both.

 2. I will run around the block in my underwear. Want me to make it a thong? How about a mile? Bike instead you say? Bring the $$$. Yes I will get it on camera. Starts at $50 for running the block in undies. Goes up from there.

 3. A  legitimately cool drum jam. Either on the level, or with Robbie Roxx, my just-now-created hair metal alter ego. This one will take some time and prep. $100.

 4. Do laps / hang out / sun bathe at my local public pool in a bikini and arm floaties. $50.

What about something really simple - like a prank call to my boss?

I’ll do it for $25. You want me to impersonate a celebrity? $50.

Ok, Send me your ideasor buy one of these and let’s get going!

Rob
